Terms and conditions

Last updated:

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Website or placing an order. By accessing the Website or purchasing a print, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About us

C41 a division of Euvra-Mossant Foundation, 61 Bridge Street, Kington, England, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom, providing a handmade cyanotype fine art printing service. Prints are produced individually by hand using customer-supplied photographs.

2. Agreement to terms

By placing an order or using the Website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or place an order.

3. Product information

Each cyanotype print is handmade using traditional photographic processes and is unique by nature. We make every effort to provide accurate descriptions and representative images on the Website. However, the appearance of a finished print may vary slightly due to the handmade nature of the process, the characteristics of the source photograph, and differences in monitor calibration. Such variation is inherent to the craft and does not constitute a defect. Additionally, if the paper specified in your order is unavailable at the time of fulfilment, we reserve the right to substitute it with an alternative of equal or better quality that is equally suitable for fine art cyanotype printing by hand.

4. Ordering

Orders are placed through the Website and confirmed by email upon receipt. An order confirmation does not guarantee availability; in the unlikely event that we are unable to fulfil your order, we will notify you promptly and arrange a full refund.

5. Payment

Payment is required at the time of purchase. All payments are processed securely through Stripe’s hosted checkout page. You enter your payment details directly on Stripe’s platform; C41 does not receive, store, or process any payment card information. Prices displayed on the Website include applicable taxes. Import duties or taxes applicable in the destination country are the responsibility of the customer.

6. Production and shipping

Each print is produced by hand. Production is completed within a maximum of 7 days from the order date. All orders are shipped worldwide at no additional cost. Shipments are dispatched via express courier or EMS tracked postal service, and tracking information is provided for every order.

While we make every effort to ensure prompt delivery, C41 is not responsible for delays caused by the courier or postal service once the shipment has been dispatched.

7. Returns and cancellations

Because each print is produced to order using photographs supplied by the customer, the print is a personalised item and is therefore exempt from the standard 14-day right of withdrawal under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, Article 16(c) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, and equivalent legislation in other jurisdictions. Accordingly, we are unable to accept returns or cancellations once production has begun.

Customers are informed of this exemption and asked to acknowledge it explicitly before their order is confirmed.

However, we stand fully behind the quality of our service. If your print arrives damaged in transit or is not delivered within a reasonable time, we will resolve the issue promptly by way of a replacement or full refund, at our discretion. To report a problem, please contact us at orders@c41.uk within 14 days of the expected delivery date, providing your order details and, where applicable, photographic evidence of damage.

8. Intellectual property and customer content

You retain all rights to any photographs you submit to us. By submitting a photograph, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to reproduce it and that doing so does not infringe the rights of any third party. C41 will not use your photographs for any purpose other than producing your order.

9. Data and privacy

Personal data and photographs submitted as part of an order are used solely to process and fulfil that order. All personal data and customer photographs are permanently deleted once delivery has been confirmed. For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, C41’s liability in connection with any order is limited to the value of that order. C41 is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from the use of the Website or the purchase of prints.

11. Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version and its date of last revision will always be available on this page. Continued use of the Website or placement of an order following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
